BYU vs Utah Wasatch Cup
Provo, UT- It was a packed house last night at South Field where BYU hosted Utah in the battle for the Wasatch Cup. By the time I went over to the east end zone at the second half there was standing room only. With a couple missed penalty kicks between the teams BYU's Kody Thompson scored the first try. A successful penalty kick by Linehan & the first of 3 tries scored by Jordan Lowry BYU propelled to a 17-0 lead. Utah scored in the 31st minute & the score going into half time was 22-7. Utah made it interesting in the second half by scoring 2 more tries but it wasn't enough to beat the Cougars who won the game 41-21. This is BYU's last home regular season game. They head to Arizona next week to play in the Rugby Bowl & then to Annapolis to play the winner of Dartmouth and Clemson. If they win that game then they will host the Varsity Cup Semi Finals at South Field on Saturday 26 April.

Wasatch Cup!
Provo, UT- BYU will host rival Utah on Friday night at the Wasatch Cup for BYU's second game under the lights. BYU has won 8 of the last 9 games against Utah with their only win coming in 2005. After a fresh start for their team I can only imagine that they are hungry.
BYU is 13-1 on the season and looking to extend to a 7 game win streak. With the return of Captain Kyle Sumsion from training and playing with the US Eagles after 3 games and coming off the momentum of the San Francisco Golden Gate win BYU looks to be the favorite, although this is a rivalry game and things have been known to get wild. The Cougars also return Paul Lasike after his work with the football team. Friday night will definitely be a game that you don't want to miss.

BYU vs SGG
Provo, UT- The Champions Challenge kicked off this afternoon on South Field at 1PM MST. The 13-1 BYU Cougars hosted San Francisco Golden Gate in what was probably BYU best played 1st half of the season. The forward pack was back up to their best and the backline was able to keep things moving. SGG scored first making it a quick 7-0 BYU's Josh Anderson came down the right sideline and put in a try. Chris Wernli, Josh Whippy and Jared Whippy would add to the first half score of 31-7. SGG came back ready in the second half but it just wasn't enough to edge them past the Cougs. It got a bit chippy and tempers ran high but all in all it was an amazing game. Come out for the Wasatch Cup next week when BYU hosts the newly coached Utah Utes, under the lights Friday night at 7 PM. Its sure to be an amazing match.
